The Hulk!!

So I first stumbled across amigurumi about a year ago but I have only just took the time to learn how to do it and now I am hooked (excuse the pun) !

So here is my first attempt... 

Drum roll please for..... THE HULK



"HULK SMASH!!"


Now he's a bit more cute and fluffy than menacing beast but I still love him 

Pattern is as follows:
 
Head - green yarn

Ch 2 or magic ring

Round 1 Make 6 sc into 2nd chain from hook. (6 sc)

Round 2 Inc into every sc (12sc)

Round 3 *Inc in next sc, sc in next sc*, repeat to end of round (18 sc)

Round 4 *Inc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc*, repeat to end of round (24 sc)

Round 5 *Inc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc*, repeat to end of round (30 sc)

Round 6 *inc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc*, repeat to end of round (36 sc)

Round 7 *inc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc*, repeat to end of round (42 sc)

Rounds 8-17 Sc in each sc around (42 sc)

Round 18 *sc2tog, sc in next 5 sc*, repeat to end of round (36 sc)

Round 19 *sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc*, repeat to end of round (30 sc)

Round 20 *sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc*, repeat to end of round (24 sc)



At this point attach your safety eyes (or stitch on eyes) and stitch on your mouth and eyebrows.



Stuff head



Round 21 *sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc*, repeat to end of round (18 sc)

Round 22 *sc2tog, sc in next sc*, repeat to end of round (12 sc)

Round 23 sc2tog to end of round (6 sc)



Add any extra stuffing if needed. Fasten off with a slip stitch and leave a long tail for sewing. Weave tail through remaining 6 sc and pull tight.



Body – green yarn

Ch 2 or magic ring

Round 1 Make 6 sc into 2nd chain from hook. (6 sc)

Round 2 Inc into every sc (12sc).

Round 3 *Inc in next sc, sc in next sc*, repeat to end of round (18 sc)

Round 4 *Inc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc*, repeat to end of round (24 sc)

Round 5 *Inc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc*, repeat to end of round (30 sc)

Rounds 6-15 sc in each sc around (42 sc)



Change to purple yarn



Round 16 *sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc*, repeat to end of round (24 sc)

Round 17 *sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc*, repeat to end of round (18 sc)

Round 18 *sc2tog, sc in next sc*, repeat to end of round (12 sc)

Round 19 sc2tog to end of round (6 sc)





Stuff body.

Fasten off with slip stitch and weave end through remaining 6 sc and pull tight. Sew in end.

Sew head to body ensuring that head is securely attached. Weave in any ends.



Arms (make 2) – green yarn

Ch 2 or magic ring

Round 1 Make 6 sc into 2nd chain from hook. (6sc)

Round 2 Inc into every sc (12sc).

Round 3 *inc in next sc, sc in next sc*, repeat to end of round (18sc)

Rounds 4 – 7 sc in every sc around (18sc)

Round 8 sc in next 4 sc, *sc, tr, sc* in next stitch, sc in every sc to end of round

Round 9 sc in next 4 sc, skip over tr, sc in next sc and every sc to end of round (17sc)

Round 10 sc2tog around to last sc (10 sc)

Round 11 - 16 sc in every sc around. Fasten off with slip stitch

Stuff arms

Sew end of arm to body.



Legs (Make 2) –green yarn

Ch 2 or magic ring

Round 1 Make 6 sc into 2nd chain from hook. (6 sc)

Round 2 Inc in every sc round. (12 sc)

Round 3 *inc in next sc, sc in next sc* (18 sc)

Round 4-7 sc in every sc to end of round (18 sc)

Round 8 sc2tog 6 times, sc in each sc to end of round (12sc)

Round 9 sc2tog 4 times. Sc in each sc to end of round (8 sc)

Rounds 10 – 14 Sc in each sc to end of round.



Change to purple yarn



Rounds 15-18 Sc in each sc to end of round.



Fasten off with slip stitch. Stuff legs. Sew top of legs to body.

  3. Though I'm not the author, I used a G hook and it worked perfectly. I tend to crochet fairly loosely, so an H would likely work as well.
